The Hippie

my self-character as the neo-hippie that I am.. I hate the stereotype that every hippie is a pothead or drug-user, because the few hippies I know haven't used drugs (the worst they'd use is cigarettes!) After drawing my character, I thought it would be good to actually show the new generations that the pot-smoking, free-love 60s hippies were just in the majority but not the whole. Being a hippie has nothing to do with the clothes or the drugs, it has to do with thoughts and beliefs. As a subculture, people tend to base hippies on their clothing and habits. Being a so-called "neo-hippie", I learned from the mistakes of 60s hippies, never to do drugs (i want to keep my brain, thanks) and not promote free-love (nowadays with HIV/aids, I choose not to die from one mistake), but the rest of what they stand for is just as important today as it was back then. The Beatles shirt (I'd buy it in a heartbeat!) is based off of a "All you need is love" music video screenshot. The stuff on the bells are beatles lyrics, and a few jokes from the tv show "Laugh-In".
